“Katipunero” is a soldier/freedom fighter during the Spanish era. “Katipunero” is the term for members of the “Katipunan” – the group of Filipinos who rebelled against Spanish rule, founded by Andres Bonifacio.
This statue of a “Katipunero” is located in Baliuag, Bulacan in front of the Saint Augustine Parish Church. The young Pepe (Jose Rizal) is at the background.
